Prior to joining Kates Nussman Ellis Farhi & Earle, LLP, she was law clerk to the Honorable Peter G. Geiger, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County. While a law clerk, Ms. Soto assisted with judicial reviews and trials in a variety of areas including medical malpractice, professional malpractice, contract/commercial, employment, auto negligence, LAD, prerogative writs, etc. She also researched and drafted judicial orders ruling on various pretrial motions for relief, as well as in-trial and post-trial motions. She also participated in voir dire, status conferences, case management conferences, hearings on various civil motions, and trial presentation and completion. Ms. Soto also regularly assisted with Temporary Civil Commitment Orders and civil actions, small claims, and landlord/tenant trials, when the Court was assigned to hear and rule on such matters. As a Court-trained mediator, she participated regularly in mediation and settlement matters under civil actions, small claims, and landlord/tenant dockets.
Ms. Soto also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Adam E. Jacobs, J.S.C., Criminal Division, Passaic County, and the Honorable Justine A. Nicccollai, J.S.C., Family Division, Passaic County. Her work with Judge Jacobs entailed working on legal research assignments, legal writings, discovery, and other trial matters under the criminal dockets. Her work with Judge Niccollai entailed legal research and writing, discovery, and work pertaining to Family division non-dissolution and domestic violence dockets. And she also served as a Law Clerk in both the RFG Legal & Corporate Legal Departments in Realogy Holding Corporation’s office in Madison, New Jersey.
Ms. Soto is a graduate of Montclair State University (“MSU”) in Montclair, New Jersey, where she earned a bachelor's degree with a double major in Jurisprudence and Business Administration (with a concentration in International Business).
After obtaining her undergraduate degrees, Ms. Soto attended Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey. During law school, Ms. Soto was appointed as Rutgers Law School’s Vice President of the Association of Latin American Law Students and was an active member of the Minority Student Program. Ms. Soto was also appointed as the Publication Editor for the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal. Furthermore, Ms. Soto also served as a clinical law student in the Rutgers Law School Intellectual Property Clinic.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the
Bergen County Bar Association-Young Lawyer’s Division and the Hispanic Bar Association (NJ Div.)
