Dallas Complex Commercial Disputes Lawyer
Overview
Ryan joined the firm in 2010 and was promoted to Partner in 2015. Ryan is a trial lawyer focused on litigating complex disputes. His practice involves representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and catastrophic injury cases, as well as handling litigation and non-litigation matters for businesses of all sizes and their owners. Ryan has represented developers, general contractors, sub-contractors, real estate holding entities, builders, physicians, hoteliers, technology companies, and two of the largest automobile dealerships in Central Texas.
Prior to the practice of law, Ryan worked for more than a decade representing a major health insurance carrier in its contract negotiations. He takes pride in his commitment to listening to his clients, gaining an understanding of their unique challenges, and then providing them with "real world" solutions to their problems. He has successfully recovered money for his clients who were wronged and successfully defended his clients who were wrongly accused.
For his undergraduate studies, Ryan attended McMurry University in Abilene, where he graduated second in his class. In pursuit of his law degree, he attended Baylor University and graduated with a Juris Doctorate, cum laude. While in law school, Ryan was a member of the Baylor Law Review and was Managing Editor of the school's online law journal. He also completed Baylor's rigorous Practice Court Program, sharing the top grade with one other student. In his free time, he enjoys cooking and, more importantly, eating.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
