While in law school, Ms. Monder interned at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego and was a student mediator at various courthouses throughout San Diego where she facilitated communications between litigants in attempt to informally settle disputes. In addition, she traveled to Argentina as part of DePaul University College of Law’s International Law Program, was a part of TJSL’s Alternative Dispute Resolution team, and was chosen to be the ABA Representative Competitor at the Mediation Competition at Pepperdine (2011).
Following admission to the California State Bar in 2013, Ms. Monder initially began working in Sacramento focusing on employment related matters. In addition, she assisted litigants in small claims actions and represented both landlords and tenants in unlawful detainer proceedings. Ms. Monder has always had a strong interest in family law and before joining Miller & Associates, Attorneys LLP in September 2019 she focused on assisting victims of domestic violence and elder abuse at the Sacramento Regional Family Justice Center. Here she supervised legal interns, consulted with pro se litigants about various family law related matters, and helped litigants prepare their legal forms which included domestic violence restraining orders and elder abuse restraining orders.
When Ms. Monder is not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her family, visiting farmers’ markets, traveling and trying new restaurants.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
