Overview
Stephen H. Cohen has been admitted to the bar in the State of New York since 1993 and to the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts since 1994. Mr. Cohen received his B.S. degree from the State University of New York, College at Oswego and his J.D. degree from Touro College of Law. He has been on television on legal programs as a guest speaker on several occasions and has been a lecturer for other attorneys and health workers in seminars regarding the New York State Workers’ Compensation Law. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Queens County Bar Association and the Injured Workers’ Bar Association.
Originally, Stephen gained valuable knowledge defending insurance carriers and large self-insureds while working for a well respected liability defense firm. After several years at that firm, Stephen started the workers' compensation division defending insurance carriers and large self-insureds in workers' compensation cases. In 1997, Stephen became one of the founding partners of Bangel & Cohen, LLP, (the predecessor to Bangel, Cohen & Falconetti, LLP) initially defending insurance carriers and large self-insureds in workers' compensation cases. He then realized that his hard negotiating and well practiced trial skills would greatly benefit injured workers. Stephen is well respected and works tirelessly obtaining settlements and trial results on behalf of his clients.
