White Bear Lake Personal Injury Law Firm
Overview
As the founder of the Law Office of James R. Nethercut, P.A., I am deeply committed to helping people in the metropolitan area and throughout Minnesota regain control of their lives after a personal injury or work related injury. I leverage 30 years of practice to pursue the best possible outcome for victims and their families, whether they were hurt in a motor vehicle accident or on the job. After an accident, it can seem like no one is listening. I give my clients full attention and return all telephone calls. I do my best to give my clients frequent updates on the status of their cases.
No matter how an injury occurs, whether from a dog bite, motor vehicle accident, or work injury, we work relentlessly to obtain a reasonable resolution of your claim. I have vast experience in negotiating with insurance companies; if discussions alone are insufficient, I do not hesitate to pursue your claims through the litigation process. Whichever the setting, I make it my goal to secure compensation for pain and suffering as well as unpaid medical bills and lost wages.
I invite prospective clients to arrange a free consultation with me. I welcome any telephone calls or consultations in my office. I will listen from our first discussion to the last, I offer straight forward, honest, and practical advice. I will take the time to listen intently and learn all of the facts of your case before letting you know of all of your rights and options. All my fees are based upon recovery; that is, there is no fee unless you recover.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
