Brian's practice involves all aspects of US and international intellectual property law, including the preparation and prosecution of patent, trademark and copyright applications, reexaminations, oppositions, and matters involving validity, due diligence and infringement investigations, including litigation.He also represents large and small businesses in all forms of technology licensing transactions, and negotiates and drafts licensing agreements, as well as general business, distribution and technology transfer agreements pertaining to the protection of intellectual property rights.

Brian draws upon his extensive experience in computer law and electrical engineering to represent technology-driven companies focusing on applications of computer technology, software, and e-commerce related advances.Other representative areas of Brian's expertise include, without limitation, irrigation fittings and assemblies, fluid flow monitoring systems, hydraulics, elastomeric seals and sealing applications, robotics, plastic and rubber assemblies and components, soil, drainage and erosion control technology, and dairy processing and food handling machinery.

Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1981 from the University of Minnesota .Thereafter, he was employed by Honeywell, Inc., Defense Division, as an electrical engineer, where he was awarded for his special achievements in connection with his robotics work in the area of conformal coating applications.Brian enrolled at Hamline University School of Law in 1984, and earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1987.

In advance of graduating from law school, Brian was admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and began working for the law firm of Schroeder & Siegfried, P.A. as a patent agent in 1986.Upon receiving his law degree, Brian joined the firm as an associate attorney in 1987, and is now the managing partner of Schroeder & Siegfried, P.A.
