I handle cases in all nine Bay Area counties.
I am a family man who has had a long-standing, grounded and stable marriage with three children, all of whom graduated from top tier universities. I deeply respect people trying to maintain the health of a family during marriage dissolution because I know that divorce does not end a family relationship.
While I have honed extensive litigation experience during my years of practice, I am constantly striving to deepen my competence, teaching jury trial courses at the University of Notre Dame and at the University of San Francisco law school.
Because my approach combines a one-on-one personalized attention fused with comprehensive family law experience, I am proud to say that I have actually received referrals from the former spouses of my clients who respected my transparent, forthright, efficient, honest and open communication during the entire proceeding.
When you retain me, you get me — not some inexperienced assistant. Nothing gets filed in any of my clients' files, which has not been personally reviewed and placed in the file by me. My practice of law is a hands-on practice. Though I have two part-time paralegals who have worked with me for years, I am proud to say that nearly all work done in a file of mine is performed by me, not some assistant.
Because I live five minutes from my office, clients are continually impressed with how accessible I am and how quickly I am able to come through on delivering services in a short period of time, including on weekends.
It is this approach that has preserved the financial and emotional well-being for hundreds of families, and I am ready to apply it to your case.
My office, located one block from the San Mateo County courthouse and two minutes from Highway 101, offers free parking and a two-block walk from the Caltrain with connections to BART. I am available Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., though I frequently am able to see clients after hours.
I also have handled some of the most complex personal injury cases in the state and am proud to say that most are referred to me from other attorneys around the state of California.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
