Hired Law firm 2018Minor no brainer legal matter just required somebody with a bar license. A year later I had per the contract deceptively urging justifiably disputing an extreme deception diplomatically Chicago Bar Association told me you have to work out and pay per contract until and unless you can get the amount reduced by voluntary agreement or legal action including arbitration. The moment the subject came up Handler starting filing malicious falsified lawsuit when nothing was even due and I had attempted to work this out within 30 day terms, one way or another with the toothless BBB so he could be stopped from very ugly contact via a third part that does this for plumbers, refusing payment ongoing requiring I pay for and take legal action to force him to end it as since prior faking a dispute $0 cost to Handler next to that courthouse that costs victims extreme damages they present as not being damages due to demographics and continue rage backlash with another $10K in damages every time he got paid in full enraged victims had ever been able to hire a private attorney where he is also doing this with divorce cases without that for fees of over 15 times the amount at issue here which as contracted for 1/5 of what I was per contract impossible to do that to, and deceived into as all BBB can do anybody which is give them a 2 star instead of 5 and compile complaints, so that whatever is in that office is also not safe for us to be exposed to or have our information. Where when I looked up cases like this in the ARDC database most of them were losing licenses entirely under a Rule 1.5 which is also not doing us any good in the dispute, and the Chicago Bar one that allegedly does, can't be used when they file the one sided throughout in Cook faked lawsuits like this. Which makes this an attorney nobody can hazard hiring where if you don't like your attorney or don' t like their fees, you can at least settle up without this and walk away without this.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
