John Rasnick was a gifted strategic planner, whose breadth of knowledge in business, asset protection, and both corporate and tax planning areas of the law equipped him to provide excellent representation to individuals and businesses in the following areas: estate planning; business formation, compliance issues, and succession planning; asset protection strategies; franchise entity formation and compliance; and probate of estates. Mr. Rasnick helped thousands of clients form comprehensive estate plans, considering the unique needs of each situation and the ever-changing landscape of taxation and probate legislation, and assisted clients to make desired asset transfers in the way that they choose, while minimizing taxes and administrative expenses. Mr. Rasnick lectured on behalf of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Akron Bar Association as well as numerous business and professional groups on corporate law, asset protection planning, estate planning and family wealth transfer planning. He co-authored several published works on Estate Planning and Advanced Estate Planning techniques. Mr. Rasnick had been a reliable and astute sounding board for both small and large businesses, providing expert counsel on formation of new or subsidiary entities, strategic planning for business succession, share purchase agreements, and many other technical business stratagems. In the area of franchise compliance, Mr. Rasnick brought over a quarter of a century's worth of experience in navigating the technical hurdles faced by franchisors in creating and maintaining compliance of a franchised business. Mr. Rasnick had assisted several start-up franchises in taking a viable single business concept and translating it into a franchise opportunity. In all his client contacts, but especially in the probate of decedent's estates, Mr. Rasnick brought a warmth and compassion that set him apart, blending qualified legal counsel with a spirit of empathy and understanding during difficult times in the lives of his clients.
