John H. Piccin was born in Willmantic, Connecticut on January 27, 1940. He attended the University of Vienna in Vienna, Austria and graduated from Villanova University with honors in 1962. He then received a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Michigan Law School in 1965. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1966, to the Florida Bar in 1975 and to the US District Court, Middle District of Florida. He is a member of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, The Marion County Bar Association and the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Fifth Judicial Circuit, State of Florida. He is also certified as a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Membership is limited to trial lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skill, experience and excellence for achieving a verdict or settlement of $1 million or more.
John married Mary Burke in 1966 and they have two children, Katherine Piccin Glynn and Timothy B. Piccin. Timothy was a Captain in the United States Air Force and an F-16 fighter pilot and now professionally flies the Boeing 777. Mary is a thoroughbred horse trainer.
