Robert Trodella represents institutional lenders, private equity firms, turnaround specialists, troubled companies, and strategic and financial buyers of distressed assets in a variety of industries, both in and outside of bankruptcy. He has a broad base of experience, with a particular focus on distressed M&A; counseling C-Suite level officers dealing with financial distress; structuring, documentation, and workouts of troubled credits; and maximizing asset value, particularly IP, technology, and real estate related assets.
Recent distressed and other M&A transactions include representing AFA Foods, Inc. and its affiliated chapter 11 debtors (Bankr. Del.) with respect to the sale of their beef processing businesses throughout the United States; MasterCard in the acquisition of technology assets; and Strategic Restaurants Acquisition Company in the acquisition of Burger King and T.G.I. Friday's branded restaurants both in and outside of bankruptcy.
Robert regularly represents Wells Fargo Bank and other lenders in complex credit restructurings, receiverships, and bankruptcies. He was lead counsel for Wells Fargo in the In re Kobra Properties bankruptcy case, a large real estate developer bankruptcy in the Eastern District of California. Robert is currently advising a large technology company with respect to the protection of its overseas supply chain, is representing a multi-national energy company in protecting its rights and defending against potential claims in the bankruptcy of an alternative energy company, and is representing the general partners of a professional sports team in protecting their interests in the bankruptcy of one of their partners.
