Scott Warmuth has bridged gaps between cultures and nations for decades, has supported all walks of life from politicians, to students, to the homeless, and has led one of the most successful legal firms in the state of California for over 30 years. Conversant in Mandarin, Mr. Warmuth spent the mid 80's as the Foreign Law Expert and Professor of Contract and Corporate Law in China.

Mr. Warmuth received his Bachelor of Arts degree from New College of California in 1978 and his law degree Cum Laude from the University of San Diego in 1983. He was also a student at the Institute of Comparative and International Law of Oxford University. Mr. Warmuth was a city councilman for the city of Lake Forest Park, Washington, and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Korea.

From the very beginning, Mr. Warmuth was fueled by the concept of helping people in need, giving a voice to those who have none, being on the frontier of new ideas and helping achieve the dreams and protecting the rights of so many. He has developed a love and passion for the various practice areas and witnessing first hand the wonderful ability to change people's lives for the better in each.

In the words of Steven Keeva, "Law is one of the great healing professions. While medicine heals the body and the clergy heals the soul, the law heals societal rifts." As an attorney and business leader, Warmuth has an ability to help those who have no idea what their recourse is, or perhaps solidify their creative works, or establish their life in another country. He has dedicated his life to making a positive impact to everywhere, giving back to the community, mentoring those who love to learn, and growing as an individual along the way.

In the last year alone, Mr. Warmuth has received numerous awards and honors, including a congressional recognition from long time friend and supporter Congresswoman Judy Chu, "Small Business of the Year, 2015" by Assembly member Ed Chau, The Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Inspiration Award (HOBY) and the Litigator Award by the Trial Lawyers Board of Regents.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
