Dr. Goldsmith has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine and also to the New York Academy of Medicine. He is past President of the American College of Legal Medicine and Board Certified in Legal Medicine. He is past President of the New Jersey Association for Justice, and currently a member of their Board of Governors. He is active in training young attorneys, having been an adjunct professor of law at the Fordham Law School. Currently, he is a Barrister in the Bergen County chapter of Inns of Court.
Over the years, Dr. Goldsmith has authored a seven-volume set on medical malpractice and numerous other articles and books in the field of law and medicine. He is a frequent lecturer to both attorneys and physicians.
In addition, Dr. Goldsmith sits on the Board of the Early Diagnosis and Treatment Foundation, whose work is focused on the early diagnosis of lung cancer, and the Board of the Hudson River Water Trail Association, whose work is focused on providing access to the Hudson River and the publication of a Hudson River water trail guide.
