The law firm was started in 1960 by John A. Daniels, whose father had been a lawyer before him. John's son, Tim, joined the firm in 1980. Our family-based practice has been in existence for over 50 years. Our law firm's main focus is in family law. We represent clients in a range of family law matters, such as divorce, property division, child support, child custody, visitation, relocation, paternity, division of retirement benefits, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements and modifications of child support and visitation. We understand the difficulty that our clients go through during this very stressful and emotional time. We serve our clients with compassion and the benefit of 32 years of trials, mediations and arbitrations. We have frequent contact with our clients during the progression of their case because we know how much an anxious client has riding on the outcome. Our clients are involved in every significant aspect of their cases and thus make informed and educated choices about their case strategies.
We also help people with estate planning and administration, including the drafting of wills, powers of attorney, directives to physicians and advanced declarations of guardianships. We can work with an executor or representative in administering an estate upon the death of a loved one.
Our real estate law services include preparing deeds to transfer the ownership of property, drafting of contracts, working with title companies and helping people with the sale or purchase of properties of any size. While most of our work is with residential properties, we also work on commercial transactions.
No matter what your legal concern, at Daniels & Daniels we believe in providing our clients with essential information and realistic, cost-effective options so they can make the best decision for their specific circumstances.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
