Albert spends a large portion of his time representing oil and gas companies in negotiating and documenting oil and gas transactions. He has prepared many different types of purchase and sale agreements, assignments, leases, seismic option agreements, participation agreements, joint operating agreements, and other documents a client may need in order to purchase, explore for and develop oil and gas reserves.
Oil and Gas Title Examination
Albert also spends a portion of his time on title examination. His title examination work involves all types of opinions, including drilling title opinions, division order title opinions and acquisition title opinions. Title opinions may be based on abstract examination or done by "stand-up" examination in the county clerk's office.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Albert is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Albert is also licensed to practice in the State of New Mexico and is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico. Additionally, he is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and the Permian Basin Landmen's Association. Albert has presented seminar papers to several industry groups, including various landmen associations.
EDUCATION
Albert received his undergraduate degree from Angelo State University in 1987. While at Angelo State University he served as student body president. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1990.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
Albert is actively involved in First Presbyterian Church of Midland and is an Elder in such church. He has served as a member of its Board of Deacons. Albert previously served on the leadership board and advisory board of the Permian Basin Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He currently serves on the Multi-Area Director Regional Board of FCA. He served for many years as a volunteer coach for youth basketball and soccer teams in Midland. Additionally, Albert is a supporter of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Midland, Inc. having previously served as the President of the Board of Directors of such agency and acted as a big brother for a child served by such agency.
