Overview
Ms. Rood has been providing employment and labor services, as well as complex litigation services to private and public sector clients for over twenty-five years. Ms. Rood has successfully litigated numerous employment and complex business lawsuits in both federal and state courts and administrative forums, including New York Labor Law Section 240/241 lawsuits, wage and hour claims, sexual harassment and gender discrimination litigation, age discrimination litigation, disability discrimination litigation, alleged violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act, religious discrimination, as well as ERISA claims.
Ms. Rood focuses her complex litigation practice on a diverse range of intellectual property, employment and contract matters. Ms. Rood has both jury and non-jury trial as well as appellate experience. Ms. Rood has successfully worked with both the insured and insurance companies in resolving insurance coverage disputes. In addition, Ms. Rood has regularly represented clients in a variety of alternative dispute resolution formats including mediation and non-binding arbitration. Ms. Rood has obtained successful results for her clients in a variety of matters, including claims for fraudulent transfers of corporate funds to shareholders.
