Consulted Law firm 2020-2022They are terrible when it comes to maintaining accurate balances for accounts. I can never receive an updated balance from them although my payments are automatically sent each check. If you can get your garnishment transferred to another agency I’d highly suggest it. There are many complaints and reviews online you can print and take with you to court as evidence to support your request.

Consulted Law firm 2019-2020The people that answer the phones over there are rude and incompetent at closing out debts. They lack any skill of negotiating. I would pay them if we could reach an agreement. They like to hang up the phone and intentionally miss my calls because they think my offer isn't high enough. They are ineffective. If you've hired this firm to collect debt for you, you probably will not ever get it. I have thousands of dollars stashed away and I still haven't paid them.

Consulted Law firm 2019I called about a judgement that is 13 years old, never got a court date confused about 2,000 that was said to be paid from 2006. I was speaking to someone name Tony, He was very very rude he ask how much I can pay I told him $100 a month, then he got really made and said that's all, I told him I'm a single mother of two and about to put a child in college next year. He told me that I knew about the moneys owed, I don't know what to do I didn't know about this matter, but I don't think it's right for Tony to talk to people the way that he does.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
