Consulted Attorney 2021-2022I am I retired attorney who needed assistance on a personal matter. Brian and his office staff exceeded my exceptions. I am very pleased.

Hired Attorney 2017-2019Brian Chavez-Oacha is horrible attorney. He says he practices law God’s way I found this to be faults. Brain is unethical in his billing. He billed me twice for the same service on two occasions. I have even considered contacting bar association. I asked him what has he done for the money I had given him. He started screaming that I should get a different attorney. I found Brian and his staff to be Ungodly hostile people. I wish I had not used this attorney. I found I did better in court after I fired Brian.

Hired Attorney 2019This guy is horrible!! As soon as you give him your retainer, him and his office staff act like they own you. I spent over 5 thousand on him and absolutely nothing happened. I'm still in the same position as when I hired him. His office manager (Barbara) and paralegal (Christopher) are incompetent!! But what do I know, this is just my opinion....

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
