Further, as a result of his successes in the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Damico was appointed to aid other prosecutorial jurisdictions during his tenure.
After five years, Mr. Damico was recruited and joined a three man law firm that quickly grew to an eight man firm of which Mr. Damico became the managing partner, as well as one of the chief litigators. In 1989, Mr. Damico opened his own law firm where he continued to apply his knowledge of criminal law and more specifically criminal defense law. Through his practice, Mr. Damico has represented thousands of individuals, companies and public officials. Mr. Damico’s success in the field of criminal defense law has earned him a strong reputation among other defense attorneys, prosecutors and judges as a hard working, aggressive and successful criminal defense attorney.
Mr. Damico’s philosophy is to provide complete representation in the criminal defense field by fully investigating and grasping the factual issues in every case and then by applying every available area of research and law to the proper legal defense for that case. Mr. Damico’s extensive trial experience has been aggressively utilized to obtain the best end result possible for the client, be it through actual pretrial and trial work or negotiations that lead to the client’s desired result.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
