He has extensive experience counseling employers regarding compliance with all types of employment and business-related issues. Mr. Walls has over 10 years of experience in Corporate Management within the Human Resource/Employee Relations functions in businesses with annual revenues exceeding $500M and over 3000 employees throughout the United States. John’s prior experience also includes over a decade of experience in the private and corporate practice of law. Most recently, John served as General Counsel and Senior Director of Human Resources for SM&P Utility Resources, Inc. located in Carmel, Indiana. In his bankruptcy practice, Mr. Walls provides his clients with thoughtful and efficient representation through difficult financial times and enables them to make a clean start with their financial lives.

John believes in a hands-on, holistic approach to the practice of law. This means he spends much of his time teaching corporate management and ownership how to avoid litigation, as well as guiding them through the process should it become necessary. John has experience in all areas of business and employment law and in federal, state, local and administrative jurisdictions. He has authored articles on various subjects and has been a frequent trainer, facilitator and guest speaker throughout his career. John is also a fully qualified Civil Mediator in the state of Indiana.

Mr. Walls is a 1995 graduate of the Ohio Northern University of Law where he was a national semi-finalist in the National Administrative Law Moot Court Competition, recipient of the Ohio Northern Labor Law Scholarship and served as law clerk to Federal Magistrate Judge Thomas Carlson in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. He has served on the Board of Directors for the State of Indiana Association of Corporate Counsel and is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association Employment and Labor Law Division.
