Tiverton DUI Defense Lawyer

Overview

The ability to successfully try and win cases is one of the most essential assets I bring to my job. From achieving large financial settlements for our clients to winning Supreme Court cases, I have been trying civil and criminal cases in State and Federal courts since 1983. Through my extensive experience, I understand the stress that my clients are under. That's why, when it comes to providing quality representation, my clients' needs always come first...

That's why, when it comes to providing quality representation, my clients' needs always come first.

During my thirty-year career, I have fought hard to obtained favorable verdicts for my clients. During this time I have represented the town of Little Compton and am particularly proud to have represented the Salvation Army in complex litigation matters. I represent individuals in need of first-class legal services as well as charitable institutions, municipalities, and large construction firms.

As well as being an experienced trial lawyer I also lecture on trial practice, ethics, police brutality, legal malpractice, defense, DUI, and municipal matters. Community is an important part of why I serve - I have served on the Rhode Island Judicial Tenure Commission, the Rhode Island Supreme Court Commission to Redraft the Rules of Professional Conduct, and on the Rhode Island Supreme Court Disciplinary Board.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
