Pamala J. Favreau is the sole practitioner at the firm Attorney Pamala J. Favreau, in Glastonbury and Somers, Connecticut. She focuses her practice on criminal defense, personal injury and administrative law. In the classroom, she stood out as an exception.

The American Association of Clinical Pathologists certified her as a medical laboratory technician in 1982, and the Connecticut State Department of Health, Education and Welfare certified her as a medical laboratory technologist in the 1990s. At Manchester Memorial Hospital and Windham Community Memorial Hospital, where she worked from 1982 to 1986, she began her professional life as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (HEW).

After taking some time off to raise her family, Ms. Favreau went back to school full time at Eastern Connecticut State University while continuing to work full time in the hospital laboratory. She attended Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, Connecticut, and graduated with honor in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science before continuing on to law school. After deciding to pursue a career in law, she attended Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree with cum laude honors in 1989.

During her time in school, Ms. Favreau interned at a top-tier Vernon, Connecticut, law firm where she obtained experience in criminal defense. This encounter shaped her outlook on the legal profession, leading her to believe that being an attorney is more than just a job. Her practice emphasizes injury law, particularly auto accidents, civil rights litigation and criminal defense.

Ms. Favreau is dedicated to keeping up with the latest developments in the fields of forensic science and criminal law, and she does so by attending seminars all around the country on a regular basis. She has spent her whole career learning and pushing for justice, and she has never wavered in her conviction that doing so is a never-ending process, no matter how long she has been practicing law.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
