Overview
A graduate with honors from the University of California at San Diego in 1992, Mr. Mougin thereafter attended the University of San Diego School of Law. Mr. Mougin received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1996 and continued his training in business litigation, personal injury defense and construction law as an associate with the San Diego law firm Tuverson & Hillyard.
Mr. Mougin was a Founding Partner in the law firm of Lake & Mougin, LLP, formed in 1997. In the summer of 1998, Mr. Mougin successfully passed the Nevada State Bar Examination, and in the spring of 1999 successfully passed the Arizona State Bar Examination, thereby expanding the scope of Lake & Mougin's practice throughout the southwestern United States. He maintains an active license in all three states today.
Mr. Mougin gained considerable experience in the fields of business transactions, business litigation, as well as the defense of personal injury and construction cases as managing partner and handling attorney on a large number of high-exposure and complex cases in Clark County and Washoe County Nevada, San Diego County, Riverside County, Los Angeles County, Orange County, and Phoenix, AZ. He has defended and taken hundreds of depositions as well as prepared law and motion on virtually every aspect of complex bodily injury, business, and construction litigation. Mr. Mougin has also tried numerous cases in both State, District, Superior and Federal Court. He has been involved in the mediation, arbitration, and trial of a variety of business and personal injury based cases with amounts in dispute totaling well over $750 million.
Mr. Mougin joined Kring & Chung, LLP in May 2001, opening the San Diego branch office for the firm's business, construction and personal injury defense clients. Thereafter, Mr. Mougin opened the Kring & Chung office in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Mougin is now acting as Managing Partner of the Kring & Chung's Las Vegas office. This office has extensive experience in dealing with the nuances of business transactions, business litigation, personal injury, commercial trucking and construction law in Nevada and California, including NRS Chapter 40 as well as the handling and management of OCIP/WRAP issues. In addition to his business and personal injury defense practice, Mr. Mougin currently represents local business owners including, developers, owners and general contractors as well as specialty subcontractors in both civil defense and business litigation matters. Mr. Mougin also has experience handling the defense of a number of high-profile professional malpractice lawsuits as well as sports and entertainment clients. He is also personal counsel to a number of prominent construction firms in both Nevada and California.
