Michael Hammond is a partner in the law firm of Landrum & Shouse LLP in Lexington and Louisville, KY. Since his admission to the Kentucky Bar in 2000, he has dedicated his legal career to civil trial practice. Mike has tried cases in Louisville and Lexington and throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky. Mike has frequently represented trucking companies, construction companies and contractors, and individuals in cases dealing with personal injury, products liability, wrongful death, and contractual claims. Mike has also represented multiple insurance companies in bad faith litigation throughout Kentucky’s state and federal courts. Mike is a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association and the Defense Research Institute. He has addressed fellow attorneys and insurance representatives about truck accidents, the claims handling process, and the investigation and defense of motor vehicle accident lawsuits at numerous legal seminars. He has also taught deposition and trial skills to University of Kentucky law students for many years.
Mike holds an “AV” Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell as a trial lawyer, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. He also was selected as a Kentucky Super Lawyer for 2013-2017, an honor limited to no more than 5% of Kentucky attorneys.
Mike is married and is the father of one daughter. He is an active member of Christ the King Cathedral and has served as a coach for many years at Lexington Catholic High School. He spends most of his free time coaching or practicing whatever sport is in season with his daughter or following University of Kentucky athletics.
