When all was said and done I asked if I could get a partial refund because there was very little work done. And they did offer me a Rebate of some of my money. I couldn't be happier Thanks Midwest.

While Midwest Disability did help me win my case, I ended up communicating with my case manager at the SSA most of the time. Midwest disability never reached out with any updates about my case once the initial application was filled out and the contract was signed. I had to call them to get any updates. In fact, I found out from SSA that I wone my case and had to call Midwest Disability to update them. I feel like I wasn't represented very well and ended up paying for their services. However, I question how much they benefitted me in my case.

I was very happy with the customer service and help that was provided. Only thing I would change is knowing more about exactly what is happening. But im sure that lies upon social security to clarify things.

I didn?t interact much with the law firm. I spoke with SS more often to get updated on my case. I found out I was approved on the SS.GOV web site. I never received a call from the attorneys office telling me I was approved.

I am not exactly sure what they even did for me. I never, not once, spoke with anybody from Midwest. I barely even knew who my specific attorney was. I had no idea who to call for questions, and every communication from them through mail was useless because the SS office sent me the same thing. Was I just supposed to send things to Midwest instead of the SS office? I received NO calls for many months -- the only time I spoke with somebody was the very beginning. Nobody called me after my claim was accepted. Absolutely zero communication, and I have no idea what they did for me that I didn't need to do myself. Then, my claim gets accepted, and they take hundreds of dollars from it, even though I havent even had ANY communication with them for months! I believe the only thing they did that helped me is being a Law Firm. It showed to the SS that somebody was representing me -- which looks better than no representation. Terrible.

Midwest Disability staff and law firm did a great job with my claim. I did not want to go it on my own after reading about so many people who file by themselves are initially disqualified, then have to appeal and go through the process again. So I did some research and Midwest had very good reviews so I decided to go with them. They were with me every step of the way and took care of all the filings and correspondence with SSA. They were very polite and their follow up and follow thru is fantastic. The process took a long time (especially with Covid slowing things down) but they stayed steadfast and eventually my claim was approved. I don't feel they did a very good job of explaining everything in the beginning . I haven't been able to work more than 5 to 6 hours a day for a little over 15 years but as I was self employed I struggled on. Later one of the intake specialist told me if you can't work 8 hours a day 5 days a week you should qualify for some disability. This was after we were already started. He did nothing to look into this for me. So I really have no idea where they came up with their date of disability. I had multiple people call me asking the same questions that I answered a day or two before which left me wondering if they communicate with each other. Plus it happened a few times when they told me they would call back and they didn't. When I did they had the answer. I also had to inform them that I was approved.

I worked with this firm for almost 2 years. They neglected to tell me that social security only goes back 2 year in your medical records. I was informed of this 2 weeks before my hearing. Had I known this I would have gotten new x-rays and MRI's. After my 3rd denial they informed me I could either find a new firm or apply again on my own. So glad they wasted 2 years of my life with nothing to show for it. I would not recommend them at all.

Prior to becoming disabled, one of my jobs as a case manager was to help people apply for Disability and assist them through the process. After a 30 minute prequalification phone interview (Midwest Disability Law Firm) which basically weeds out the can't-miss from the low-chance cases, I was told they would represent me during my first-time filing for SSI and SSDI. They said their fee would be paid by SSA. They li terally filled out the initial claim paperwork and did nothing further, except to call me every 3 months to make sure I was still in a nursing home and under the care of a doctor. I was told by SSA I didn't need a lawyer for an initial filing, but because I did, I was hours away from getting my claim dismissed due to "inaction". The "Firm" had listed my address wrong in filing the paperwork, would not call the nursing home I was in, or verify address with me by phone, causing me not to receive mail from SSA, and said they had not been in touch with me in months, and could not offer any assistance. SSA Agent "Dan" said he found me after ONE Google search! I then found out the Firm is set to receive 25% of my back pay, + / - $7000, just for filing the initial 10-15 page application. SSA did everything needed to approve the claim, including pulling all medical records.

After SSI finally finished their review, Midwest Disability was paid directly. They also then contacted me about medicare, etc., for help in the future for applying!! I followed their advice which is the reason the case was denied. I asked if it was OK to work in the time we were waiting. They said it would be no problem. I lost all 3 jobs due to my disability. I was denied disability and they dropped me as a client after the denial saying I made to much money with those three jobs. Now they want me to pay them to send a disc of my file as they will no longer represent me. They are not in Chicago area. Get a lawyer who has an office you can go to and meet.
