Jessica E. Adler, the founder of The Law Office of Jessica E. Adler, is an experienced attorney who concentrates her practice in all areas of family law. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar (Family Law Section and Law Practice Management Section), the Virginia State Bar (Member, Family Law Section), the Virginia Bar Association (Member, Domestic Relations Section), the Bar of Maryland, the Maryland State Bar Association, the Fairfax Bar Association, the United States Supreme Court Bar, the Ohio State Bar (inactive), the Women's Bar Association (Co-Chair, Solo and Small Firm Forum, board member), the Montgomery County Bar Association, and Hadassah (Attorneys' Council). She is currently serving on the board, and as the volunteer coordinator, for the local chapter of the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association. She has been elected to the D.C. Bar Steering Committees for both the Family Law Section and the Law Practice Management Section. Jessica was also appointed to the D.C. Bar's Practice Management Service Committee. Jessica was listed as one of Virginia's Legal Elite in Family Law/Domestic Relations for 2006 by Virginia Business Magazine. Jessica has completed training as a divorce mediator. She has been re-elected to the board of the Washington DC Women's Bar Association, and has given a talk at the DC Bar's Basic Training about developing her practice and generating business. Recently, Martindale Hubbell has upgraded her rating to AV Preeminent. She practices in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Jessica is a volunteer at the District of Columbia Superior Court's Self Help Center where she serves as a family law expert. She has served as a Guardian ad Litem in the District of Columbia. She also does frequent community service work.
Prior to opening her own practice, Jessica was an associate with The Lewis Law Firm, where she focused on all aspects of domestic relations law. Before she joined The Lewis Law Firm, Jessica worked with the law firm of O'Connell & Associates, where her practice focused on divorce taxation.
She received her B.A. with honors, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in 1997, and her J.D. from the Ohio State University College of Law, in 2000. Jessica was the Associate Editor of the Journal on Dispute Resolution at the Ohio State University College of Law.
In 2005, Jessica was the Chair of the National Jewish Democratic Council's Young Leadership Gala. She also served as the treasurer on the Board of Directors for her Condominium Association. Jessica has been asked to join the Anti-Defamation League's Regional Board as well as their Executive Committee.
