William H. Corgan joined the office of Weisensell, Mastrantonio & Orlando, LLP in August of 2021. Before moving his office there, he was with the firm of Emershaw, Mushkat & Schneier where he worked with George Emershaw focusing on personal injury litigation.

Corgan began working as a law clerk and paralegal for Emershaw fresh out of high school. He attended The University of Akron and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and then continued at Akron for his law degree. After graduating from The University of Akron School of Law in 2001, Corgan became an attorney in Emershaw's firm.

In addition to personal injury law, Corgan went on to represent individuals and small businesses in the areas of criminal defense, foreclosures, wills and estate planning, probate, business law, property, contracts, entertainment law, eminent domain, storm water runoff, defamation and matters before the State Medical, Nursing and Election Boards.

He has been licensed in Ohio since 2001. Corgan has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He is an active member of the Akron Bar Association and is an officer of the Summit County Association for Justice.

Corgan is also a musician and songwriter, most notably as a founding member of The Misery Jackals. He plays the five-string banjo as well as other instruments for them and acted as their business manager, which included booking nationwide tours, marketing, and copyright filing. In addition to that, he likes working with his hands, whether it be on his car, home, or home appliances.

He loves helping his clients find solutions to their problems. He is going to be honest with his clients about their case and will always treat each one like the person they are - not like a number. For his injured clients, he wants to maximize their compensation. That takes time and many hours of hard work.

If you want your case done quickly and you don't care so much about being compensated fully, you might be better off to call some lawyer who advertises on the side of a bus. If you want a lawyer who will work with you one on one, who knows what he's doing and always thinks of you first, call Corgan.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
