Ms. Barnett is a 1997 graduate of Union University where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree and is a 2001 graduate of the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law where she was awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence. While at the University of Memphis, Ms. Barnett was a member of the University of Memphis Law Review where she served as Articles Editor. In addition, Ms. Barnett was a research assistant and participated in moot court and mock trial. She is a member of the Howell Edmunds Jackson American Inn of Court and serves as the Treasurer for the organization.Ms. Barnett was accepted to the Tennessee State Bar in 2001. She is admitted to practice before the Tennessee Supreme Court, Tennessee Trial and Appellate Courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Ms. Barnett is a lifelong resident of Jackson, Tennessee. She is an avid tennis player and enjoys spending time both on the tennis court and in a legal court. She is the President of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Jackson and the Past- President of the Jackson West-TN Tennis Association. Ms. Barnett is also the President of the Board of Directors of the United States Tennis Association for Tennessee (USTA TN) and is a local tennis league coordinator for mixed doubles as well as several committees. Ms. Barnett has been awarded Volunteer of the Year (2017) and Local League Coordinator of the Year (2019) by USTA TN. She enjoys practicing law with her father and her brother in the firm of Spragins, Barnett & Cobb, PLC.
