New Port Richey Workers’ Compensation Law Firm

Serving injured workers throughout the Bay Area for over 28 years. Prior to attending law school, Attorney Michael Keough was injured while working for the United Parcel Service (UPS) as a delivery driver. It is here that he learned first hand how frustrating the workers compensation system can be without a competent attorney on your side. Attorney Keough reached a settlement and used the proceeds to attend law school. Though suffering from a life altering injury and then having to endure the aggravations prevalent within the workers compensation system often felt discouraging, Attorney Keough believes this personal experience has given him a unique perspective towards achieving the best possible outcome for his clients. In over 28 years of law practice, Attorney Keough has successfully represented thousands of injured workers. He has been a solo practicioner for over two decades. During that time most of his clients were by word of mouth referrals from lawyers, doctors, physical therapists, and former clients. Our commitment: In order to uphold our commitment to personalized attention, we limit our case load so that each case receives our undivided attention. We believe in Quality vs Quantity. Each client's case is handled directly by Attorney Keough, not an associate or legal clerk. He and his legal assistant Lisa, guarantee personalized service, timely responses and aggressive representation. Attorney Keough is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell - the highest possible ranking in ethics and competency.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
