PAUL M. HOFFMAN is a well-known and well-respected civil trial lawyer in south Florida. The law firm was founded in 1998 litigates maritime personal injury cases in state and federal courts. Mr. Hoffman has extensive jury trial experience in representing individuals in personal injury matters, including maritime and medical malpractice litigation, with over one hundred personal injury cases tried to jury verdict. He tried the last case in Florida where a verdict for punitive damages on a seaman’s maintenance and cure claim was were upheld on appeal (Canales v. International Ships Services). He has successfully tried or arbitrated cases against Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd., among others. Mr. Hoffman has never represented the cruise lines.
Mr. Hoffman received his B.A. in English Literature from Hobart College and his J.D. from Boston College Law School. He is a member in good standing of both the Massachusetts and Florida State Bar Associations, and the American Academy of Justice. He is the author of “The Mindful Cruise Passenger: A Guide to Safe Cruising and Beyond.” The Hoffman Law Firm concentrates its practice in the area of representation of injured cruise ship workers and passengers.
