As Steffani Chocron's successful results for her clients show, being a good lawyer isn't just about being prepared for the unexpected; it also takes an innate talent and years of experience to assess a complex situation and determine the best course of legal action.
Since completing her undergraduate studies in 1988 at the University of Michigan and getting her J.D. from Wayne State University in 1991, Steffani has crafted a client-centered approach to handling a wide range of motor vehicle accident and medical malpractice cases. By putting her clients first, Steffani is able to figure out the most effective and rational way to approach their predicament.
Since joining Lipton Law in 2012, Steffani has thrived on helping her clients not only recover financially, but also emotionally. To her, what matters most is giving a person closure so that they can heal on several levels and put the challenges that brought them to her in the first place behind them. Being a major factor in an individual's personal evolution of facing a difficult problem, finding a solution, and overcoming it, is what Steffani was born to do.
Recognizing the value and efficiency of teamwork, Steffani believes that approaching law with her fellow colleagues at Lipton Law allows for a successful outcome in that different insight is gathered and each individual's unique knowledge and skills have something substantial to offer. This solid foundation is how Steffani and the legal team she works with guide and support people through their challenging life situations.
As an attorney who understands the balance of knowing when to pause or take a step back, and when to take action or attack, Steffani provides her clients with a well-rounded approach to a complex legal system.
Steffani is a member of the Michigan Association of Justice, the American Association of Justice, and the Women's Bar Association. Outside of the courtroom, she is active in the community through volunteer work.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
