Kathryn Shores focuses her practice on estate and trust administration, litigation, and planning, including a focus on guardianship administration and litigation. Ms. Shores has successfully litigated matters in both state and federal court, and regularly appears in courts in Lake, Cook, and McHenry Counties.
In her guardianship and elder law practice, Ms. Shores knows that planning and caring for a disabled or aging family member can be both overwhelming and emotional; therefore, it is her goal to approach every matter with diligence and compassion. Ms. Shores takes pride in listening to and understanding each unique client's situation, in order to obtain the best result possible for the client.
Ms. Shores is a nationally Certified Guardian and currently chairs the Lake County Bar Association's Guardianship Help Desk.

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
