Reston Personal Injury Lawyer

Overview

After graduating among the top of her law class, Samantha joined our firm and has been practicing exclusively in personal injury litigation ever since. She is a tireless and dedicated client advocate who works hard to attain justice for her clients. Her work ethic and attention to detail have led to successful results in even the most challenging of cases. Samantha has litigated in many trial courts throughout Virginia and also obtained multiple successful results from the Supreme Court of Virginia. She is not afraid to push for success on her clients' behalf, whether it means bringing a case to trial or appealing an unfavorable ruling. She has been featured in the Virginia Lawyers Weekly multiple times for cases resulting in large settlements and successful appeals.

Samantha handles many kinds of personal injury cases, including auto accidents, medical malpractice, wrongful death, falls, and bicycle and pedestrian accidents. In particular, she has had multiple successful settlements and verdicts stemming from drunk driving collisions. From forcing big companies to reform their safety standards to holding drunk drivers accountable, Samantha's work as a relentless advocate for personal injury victims has helped Virginia and DC become better, safer communities.

Samantha has been recognized by her peers for her work in the personal injury field. She has been selected for the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in Virginia and Washington, D.C. since 2021. Only 2.5% of lawyers in Virginia and 5% in D.C. receive this distinction. Additionally, she has been selected to the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 list since 2019.

In addition to her work on behalf of clients, Samantha is also actively involved in the legal community. She has served as co-chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Alliance for the past two years and sits on the Board of Governors to the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA). She has also helped to author multiple amicus curiae briefs on behalf of the VTLA in an effort to create better law for personal injury victims. Additionally, she has led multiple continuing education courses for fellow attorneys in the personal injury field.

Samantha is a native of Richmond, Virginia and earned her B.A. from Elon University in 2008. She obtained her law degree from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis in 2011 where she graduated summa cum laude. While in school, she focused much of her time on human rights and equal justice and spent a summer interning for a group of judges at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania. In her free time, Samantha enjoys watching and playing various sports and activities, particularly rock climbing and volleyball, as well as traveling, gardening and spending time with her family.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
