Nathan was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and graduated from Northridge High School. Nathan then attended Furman University, in Greenville, South Carolina. While earning his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Nathan spent a semester studying at Edinburgh Napier University and interning in The Scottish Parliament, in Edinburgh, Scotland. He also spent a summer interning with the United States Department of the Interior Office of Surface Mining.
After earning his degree from Furman, Nathan attended the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. While at Cumberland, Nathan was named to the Dean’s List four times and was a member of Cumberland’s National Mediation Team. Nathan also served on Cumberland’s Honor Court all three years of law school, including serving as the Chief Justice in his third year.
After graduating from the Cumberland School of Law, Nathan was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in September of 2015. He is also a member of the Mobile Bar Association and Mobile Young Lawyers.
