Kimberly Lytle was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 2010. Kim worked in the legal field for more than ten years before attending law school at the University of Dayton School of Law.

Prior to joining Terry Legal Group, LLC, Kim practiced law in Grant County, Indiana in a general practice office and was a member of the executive committee for the Grant County Bar Association. After leaving Grant County, Kim joined an international domestic relations litigation firm in Indianapolis that specialized in representing men in family law matters. Kim subsequently was the lead family law litigator at another firm in Indianapolis. Through these experiences, Kim developed invaluable skill with relating to clients and developing legal strategies to fit circumstances unique to each case.

Kim practices in all areas of family law, including divorce, paternity, custody, adoption guardianships, protective orders, Child in Need of Services (CHINS) actions, and appellate law. Kim has handled hundreds of family law cases across the State of Indiana. Kim believes that as a family law attorney, part of her job is to counsel clients to resolve issues without legal intervention. If we cannot reach a resolution, Kim will fight for her client's rights through the litigation process. Kim finds that the hardest part of any family law case is explaining to clients that even in the best of scenarios, you are losing time with your children, losing assets, and trying to find a way to deal with a person that, in most cases, you would prefer to ignore. Family law matters are often emotional, difficult, and messy. Kim helps families restore dignity to this process and helps clients adapt to the new family dynamic that they are facing.

Kim was born and raised in Fairmount, Indiana and presently resides in Sheridan, Indiana. When she is not working, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her menagerie of animals.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
