Englewood Foreclosures Lawyer

Overview

The first thing Mark would like you to know about him is that he is a father to two young boys. When he is not chasing them about, he has managed to develop a robust resume in the areas of real estate, bankruptcy, foreclosure and civil litigation. He works with clients ranging from individual consumers to multinational lenders, as well as serving as litigation counsel for Chapter 7 trustees.

Mark prides himself on being a practical problem-solver. He is a zealous advocate not afraid to go against the grain when necessary, but often finds that mutual assent is the best, and least expensive, means to relief. Not every client can write a blank check for open-ended litigation. Many lawyers want to be right at all costs, but Mark feels that results are far more important than ego. Mark's approach to advocacy puts the client's circumstances in the forefront. Within those limits he seeks to maximize benefit while curtailing expenses.

Since joining the firm in 2013, Mark has been instrumental in developing and running its real estate department. Mark regularly handles transactions and disputes pertaining to residential, commercial and mixed-use properties. His expertise and knowledge in the areas of foreclosure and bankruptcy are an invaluable tool in assisting clients facing equity problems as well as creditors and lending institutions. His knowledge and experience being on "both sides" facilitates creative and practical resolutions that attorneys from more limited backgrounds may not identify. Whether you're buying a condominium, co-op, starter home, foreclosure or commercial property, Mark and his staff are knowledgeable, experienced, and eager to assist.

Mark has received various awards including be selected as a "Top Lawyers Rising Star" and as one of Bergen County's best attorneys. Most recently Mark has been recognized by Thomson Reuters as one of New Jersey's "Super Lawyers" for 2023. However, of all the "awards" Mark has received his most cherished are the notes of gratitude he has received from his clients over the years which he proudly displays in his office as a reminder of why he practices law.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
