Hired Attorney 2019-2020This woman is horrible. DO NOT HIRE HER. I had a really bad experience with her, lost all my hearing and now bearing the aftermath of her bad Litigation. After two hearing, I told her I was seeking another attorneys’ representation; she showed up in court unannounced and told the judge I refused to abide by court order and I should be held for contempt. Can you imagine? And she then have the nerves to ask me to pay attorney fee for showing up. After dropping her at my attorney, she sent weekly bill at my house stating amount I owed from her unannounced visit in court. She went as far as coming by my house several times to see if u live there. Man talk about horrible attorney. I have videos, message me personally, I will be glad to share.

Hired Attorney 2019-2020After approaching and agreeing to obtain this attorney on retainer for my divorce on November 7th, I felt assured that I would have my "voice"heard. But by December 12th, when she admitted she hadn't actually LOOKED at any of the documents I had provided to her, she simply sent them off to opposing counsel and then blamed ME for not having all the information there, it was clear that the only thing being heard was my retainer clinking away to nothingness. If you obtain her services, enjoy being charged for "service" that doesn't even include the most basic of activities necessary to do that service, such as reading documents and following court instructions on what needs to be filed.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
