While in law school, Mr. Smith was named to the Chancellor's List and participated in the LSU Law Mentor Program and the LSU Law Football Club. He also served as the law clerk for the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board. He received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 2009 where he was named to the Dean's List.

Mr. Smith is admitted to and actively practices before all Louisiana State and Federal District Courts as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

He graduated cum laude from Jesuit High School located in New Orleans, Louisiana. While attending high school, Mr. Smith achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. He was named a National High School Coaches Association All-American, was a member of the 2004 and 2005 Louisiana Division I Wrestling State Championship Teams, and was an individual 2005 Louisiana Division I Wrestling State Runner-Up.

Mr. Smith resides in Port Allen, Louisiana where he is an active member of the community. He volunteers at Port Allen Elementary School, participating in programs such as Real Men Read and Donuts with Dad.

Mr. Smith is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Krewe of Endymion.
