Steve Nagy is an experienced transactional attorney and litigator. He joined Alderman Bernstein in 2017 and became an equity member of the firm in 2022. Steve's practice focuses on real estate matters, including eminent domain, access and boundary disputes, leasing, transactions, title disputes, and natural resource development. Steve takes pride in his ability to listen and help each client develop straightforward solutions to achieve their unique business and personal goals.
Prior to joining Alderman Bernstein, Steve worked for Denver and national law firms where he advised companies and individuals on real estate, oil and gas, mineral, and environmental matters. Steve also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado, where he represented Department of Natural Resources agencies in regulatory enforcement hearings, litigation, and rulemaking. Steve started his career as a transactional attorney for the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund (GOCO), where he handled over sixty lottery-funded property acquisitions of urban parkland, trails, agricultural conservation easements, and water rights. This diversity of experience allows Steve to provide unique perspective to his current practice.
Steve is a member of the Colorado Bar Association Real Estate Section Executive Council, where he serves on the Continuing Legal Education and Community Service Committees. Steve also serves on legislative task forces related to eminent domain, natural resources, and record title issues. He is passionate about building community and supporting younger and aspiring attorneys.
Outside the practice of law, Steve is an avid fly fisherman who enjoys spending time on the water with his wife, children, and dogs. He leads the Denver chapter of The Mayfly Project, a nonprofit organization that mentors children in foster care through fly fishing programs. Steve is committed to pursuing equity and inclusiveness in the outdoors, his law practice, and his personal life.
