Previously, Ms. Powers maintained a solo practice focusing on matrimonial law, family law and meditation. Ms. Powers has been appointed and served as Court Evaluator, Guardian and Guardian ad Litem in both the Supreme and Surrogate Courts of Nassau County pursuant to Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge of the New York State Unified Court System.

Ms. Powers maintains dual certification in mediation from Hofstra School of Law and the New York Center for Mediation. Ms. Powers is a member of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association and served as counsel to the Mary Brennan INN Pro Bono Legal Clinic, as well as providing pro bono services to the Access to Justice Safe Center.

Ms. Powers is an active member of the Nassau County Matrimonial Bar Committee, Elder Law Committee, as well as the Trusts and Estates Committee.

Ms. Powers received her J.D. from Touro Law School with a concentration in Family Law and was a two-time recipient of the CALI Award for oral advocacy. Prior to attending Touro Law, Ms. Powers received her Master’s Degree in Public Administration and was inducted into Phi Betta Kapa for scholastic excellence and graduated magna cum laude from Long Island University. Ms. Powers is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
