For over 20 years, Jerod has focused on real estate litigation, tort litigation, and landlord/tenant law in San Francisco and all of the surrounding Bay Area counties. He also has a wide range of experience in commercial and residential real estate litigation, wrongful eviction litigation, breach of contract claims, ownership disputes, and neighbor disputes. Jerod has served as lead attorney on multiple jury trials and bench trials, and he also has experience in the Courts of Appeals.
Jerod is well-versed in landlord/tenant law and evictions, especially in San Francisco with its highly restrictive and technical Rent Ordinance. He also counsels and represents residential and commercial property owners on all aspects of real estate problems and issues. He has extensive experience with unlawful detainers, owner move-in and Ellis Act evictions, tenant buyouts, master tenant/subtenant issues, "in-law" units, rent increases, subletting, short-term rentals, enforcement of lease covenants/obligations, and habitability/retaliation/housing discrimination claims. Jerod regularly appears at the San Francisco Rent Board and at other local Rent Boards. He also handles commercial and residential leasing issues.
Jerod works directly with clients to analyze their legal problems and tailor strategies to efficiently and economically achieve their goals. Jerod enjoys working with people and helping them resolve their difficulties. He understands that each client and legal problem is unique and requires an attorney who can listen to the client, review the evidence, and research the law in order to best serve the client's interests.
Jerod was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area. He attended U.C. Berkeley, San Francisco State University, and Golden Gate University Law School. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Film, a Master's Degree in Comparative Literature, and a Juris Doctorate of Law. Jerod has actively practiced law since 1998
