At the law firm of Seattle Legal Services, PLLC, we represent clients in matters of tax law including collections, securities and tax increment financing. Our services are offered to clients across the nation, and our attorneys have years of experience resolving business tax problems, dealing with the Internal Revenue Service and aiding individual taxpayers. Tax law can be confusing, and many find themselves on the wrong end of an audit if they do not have professional legal help when filing.
Common individual tax issues we deal with include federal tax liens, levies, unfiled tax returns and trust fund/payroll tax recovery penalty. As we research each individual case, we create a customized plan that works for every client. For different financial situations, we can help with an offer in compromise, a penalty abatement or a currently not collectible status. To determine where every client fit in this process, we offer a free initial consultation before we begin work.
Seattle Legal Services, PLLC, charges a flat fee rather than hourly, so clients know right up front what is expected of them. At our law firm, we also accept credit cards for payment. As our clients work through their debts and unpaid taxes with the IRS, the last thing we want is for them to be worried about their attorney fee.
The attorneys at our law firm work for the best interests of every client. It does not matter what stage of the collection process our clients are in; our job is to negotiate the most favorable way to resolve debt.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
