Derek has represented both individuals and businesses in Minnesota state and federal courts, as well as in several other states on a pro hac vice basis.
Prior to law school, Derek obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota. Thereafter, Derek attended Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude. In law school, Derek volunteered as a tutor for first year law student. He also competed in several moot court competitions and worked as a research assistant for various professors.
Derek currently resides in the St. Cloud area and spends the majority of his time away from the office with his wife and two young daughters.
