Jonathan R. Aubin joined Waller, Smith & Palmer in 2018 as an associate attorney in the civil litigation practice group. Prior to embarking on a career in law, Jonathan worked for eight years as a high school English teacher in New Haven Public Schools. During his tenure at Hill Regional Career Magnet High School, Jonathan initiated a course in film studies, published two units of study as a fellow with the Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute, and was the head coach of men’s tennis. In 2015, Jonathan left teaching to attend law school full time at Quinnipiac University School of Law (QUSL).

Jonathan earned his B.A. from the University of Connecticut and his masters in secondary education at Sacred Heart University. As a student at QUSL, Jonathan served as Publication Editor of the Quinnipiac Law Review and Vice President of the Society for Dispute Resolution. He competed in the National Sports Law Negotiation Competition in 2016 and 2017 at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego and was a finalist both years. In 2018, he worked as a Sappern Fellow at New Haven Superior Court assisting pro se litigants in obtaining divorces and temporary restraining orders. In May 2017, Jonathan took part in a QUSL service trip to Nicaragua where he presented before the Nicaraguan Supreme Court in Managua and participated in a conference on human trafficking at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua in Léon. He also assisted pro bono immigration clients in obtaining naturalized citizenship and standby guardianship through QUSL’s Civil Justice Clinic.

Jonathan was born in Norwich, Connecticut and raised in Colchester and Canterbury. He attended Norwich Free Academy and is a passionate UConn basketball and Quinnipiac Hockey fan. He currently resides in New Haven, CT with his family.
