Michael W. Maldonado was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 2018. As a member of the inaugural 3+3 pre-law program, Michael began his law studies while completing his undergraduate degree, and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law from the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2020. During law school, Michael served as President for the Board of Advocates, an academic tutor for Torts and Civil Law Property, a research assistant, and a law school ambassador. Michael was active in moot court competitions throughout his law school career having won the Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition at LSU in 2018 and having competed nationally in the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition, where he and his teammates were semi-finalists. He also competed in the 2019 National Moot Court Competition in his last year of law school. In his final semester, Michael was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a national organization recognizing law students for outstanding achievement in oral advocacy and brief writing throughout their law school career.
