Before law school, Lydia majored in Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin where she graduated in two years with high honors. As an undergraduate, she interned with the Gender and Sexuality Center and organized the first-ever Queer Prom on campus.

- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
