New York Criminal Defense Lawyer
Overview
Ian’s professional career has encompassed four distinct periods: He recently retired after teaching for twelve years at Fordham University School of Law as an Adjunct Professor of Law; Prior to this experience, Ian practiced criminal defense in Western New York. During his 29 years in private practice, Ian represented thousands of defendants in cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies including homicides which were tried to verdict before a jury; Immediately prior to entering the field of law, Ian was engaged in the international business community working for a multinational corporation and conducting negotiations in Hong Kong, Europe and the United States; Ian’s earlier career was in a diplomatic capacity, first as an Escort Officer with the United States Department of State, Division of Language Services, and then as an Administrator with the African American Institute.
In 1972, Ian authored the book Pattern For Profit In Southern Africa, one of the first in the nation to analyze the economic reality of apartheid and expose it’s evil underpinning. The foreword was written by Noam Chomsky. The book was nominated for the Herskovits Award “which recognizes the most important scholarly work in African studies published in the English language”.
