Tracy previously served as the City of West Fargo prosecutor. Most recently, she was a Cass County Assistant State's Attorney where she specialized in the prosecution of violent crimes. Tracy is one of the only few North Dakota attorneys to successfully receive a murder conviction as a prosecutor and a not guilty verdict as a defense attorney.

Tracy resides in West Fargo, ND with her husband. She also has a very energetic golden retriever puppy named Bentley and cat Willey. She spends her free time attempting to golf as the preferred past time at Barkus Law Firm as well as Solidcore and running marathons.

Tracy likes giving back to the community by volunteering with the Landon's Light Foundation and being a mentor in BIO Girls where she mentors young women promoting improving self-esteem and women empowerment.
