As an immigration lawyer, I use the U.S. immigration laws to keep families together by finding creative immigration solutions for individuals who have complex immigration histories such as prior deportations, multiple illegal entries, or criminal convictions. I am one of the few immigration lawyers in Ohio to handle human trafficking cases and federal court immigration litigation. I also handle complex family-based immigration cases, including helping survivors of domestic abuse obtain lawful status in the United States.
My bilingual staff and I work efficiently so that our clients can get results sooner. Communication is extremely important to us, returning every phone call, text message, or email. We understand that no case is more important than your own.
I am the Managing Member of Larson & Lyons, LLC and licensed to practice law in both New Mexico and Ohio. However, I counsel clients throughout the United States and abroad in their immigration matters. I am a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), serving on multiple national committees. I am also admitted to practice before the Executive Office of
Immigration Review, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Outside the practice of immigration law, I am the proud parent to two loving daughters, Leila and Sanaz, and the wife to my incredible husband, Chris. Without the benefit of the U.S. immigration laws, our family would not have been possible. He is a first generation American, whose family immigrated from Iran.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
