Overview

Gladis Morales-Gonzalez is an associate attorney at David Coffin PLLC. Gladis received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston in 2015. She then obtained her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in May of 2019, followed by her Master of Laws (LLM) in Tax Law from the University of Houston Law Center in May of 2021.

Gladis was admitted to the Texas State Bar in October 2019. Prior to joining David Coffin, PLLC., Gladis' practice areas included commercial and business litigation, contract and business disputes, consumer and commercial collections, as well as tax controversy and resolution.

Gladis became passionate about Tax Law during law school when she participated in a study abroad program where she was introduced to the study of comparative taxation. She then became a student attorney at her law school's Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC). While working there, Gladis assisted clients in negotiating with IRS agents and appeals officers, filed protests with IRS Appeals, and helped clients navigate through the IRS collection process.

Through her participation in the LITC, Gladis gained real-world experience in tax research and controversy early on and assisting those less fortunate in her community made her chosen career path rich and meaningful.

As a practicing tax attorney at David Coffin, PLLC., Gladis has made it her mission to represent each and every client entrusted to her with unrelenting diligence and dedication.

On her spare time, Gladis enjoys reading, playing chess, learning new hobbies, and spending quality time with her family.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
